IBBS - R6
The Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance (IBBS) Round 6 (R6) training, convened in August, 2023 at Mehran Hotel Karachi, focusing on mapping key populations at risk of HIV in Pakistan. This important initiative gathered a diverse group of experts and stakeholders from various sectors, including public health officials, researchers, and community leaders, all committed to devising effective strategies to combat the continued challenges posed by HIV in the region.
Mapping Activity














Mapping training in Sajawal, Badin & Thatta by WHWO & CGPH in association with University of Manitoba research survey. This training initiative aims to enhance the skills of local stakeholders and improve overall community engagement in health-related projects. Participants will learn valuable techniques in data collection and mapping, which are essential for effective public health interventions. Such efforts are crucial for addressing the unique health challenges faced by these regions, thereby contributing to improved health outcomes for the communities involved.



SRHR Session
Sexual & reproduction health rights session at a village in Mirpurkhas by Mrs Qurat ul Ain. This enlightening session aimed to educate the community about their fundamental rights regarding sexual health. The discussions encompassed various topics, including family planning, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and the importance of consent.
















Medical Camp
Free medical camp at Ziauddin hospital in Kemari Karachi was organized to provide important HIV and HepC screening services. This initiative is made possible through the dedicated efforts of the team from WHWO, in close association with a committed group of doctors and enthusiastic medical students who are eager to serve the community.
In-house Play Session
In house play session organized by WHWO in collaboration with UNDP for FSWs (female sex workers) for HIV awareness. This interactive session included various activities designed to educate participants about HIV prevention, treatment, and support. Participants engaged in discussions, role-playing, and creative exercises that not only raised awareness but also empowered them to take proactive steps in their health management. The event fostered a supportive environment where participants could share experiences and learn from each other, ultimately contributing to a more informed and resilient community.






Breast cancer & Mental health
Breast cancer and mental health awareness program at WHWO office. The program aims to provide crucial information about breast cancer, including preventive measures, early detection, and the importance of mental well-being during the treatment process. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, ask questions, and learn about available resources. This initiative not only focuses on raising awareness about physical health concerns related to breast cancer but also emphasizes the psychological aspects, encouraging individuals to support each other and foster a community of understanding and assistance. Overall, the event strives to empower attendees with knowledge and to promote a supportive environment for those affected by breast cancer.



COVID Care Session
Covid health care awareness session with HIV positive clients at Ziauddin Hospital Kemari Karachi. This session aims to educate individuals living with HIV about the various aspects of health care available to them, including mental health support, nutritional guidance, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.


HIV Awareness Session
HIV Awareness session organized by WHO with the stakeholders of Karachi at Movenpick hotel Karachi. The session aimed to educate the community about the importance of HIV prevention and treatment options available, as well as to dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding the virus. It was a significant opportunity to strengthen alliances and promote awareness in the fight against HIV, ensuring that the people of Karachi are informed and empowered to take charge of their health.



HIV Training Program
Training session held in Islamabad for teams across Pakistan to raise awareness regarding HIV. This initiative aims to empower local communities with essential knowledge to effectively address the challenges presented by HIV. Together, we can create a health-conscious environment that informs and protects the individuals most at risk, fostering understanding and reducing stigma associated with this important issue.



Health Assessment Camp
Free assessment session focused on Hepatitis C and HIV awareness at the village of Mirpurkhas. Our expert team provided valuable insights, resources, and support. This event aimed to enhance awareness about these crucial health topics, offering a safe space for discussion and learning.



Awareness & Testing Camp
Free mental health and HIV awareness and testing camp at Sanghar. This event aimed to provide essential information and services to the community, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need for their mental health and well-being.



Community Session
In house community sessions led by experienced paramedics specifically tailored for female sex workers (FSWs). These sessions focus on providing essential education about safe sex practices, and to raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), their prevention, and the available healthcare resources.






AIDS Day
WHWO joined health workers and HIV sufferers participated in a rally to mark the World Aids Day in the city of Karachi, where they raised awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by those living with the virus and the importance of community support. This event not only highlighted the significance of education on HIV prevention but also celebrated the resilience of individuals and families affected. Together, they called for increased access to healthcare services and a deeper commitment to social justice and equity in the fight against HIV/AIDS.



Medical Camp
A complimentary medical camp was organized at WHWO by the dedicated students of Ziauddin Medical University. The initiative aimed to provide free medical consultations, basic health check-ups, and awareness sessions to the local community, reflecting the students’ commitment to public health and community service.
